The Draeger X-am 5000 Diffusion Monitor detects lower level explosives (LEL, Ex), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon monoxide (CO), oxygen (O2), plus an optional 5th gas for maximum security at a low operational cost. The X-am 5000 provides constant readout of gas levels on an easy to read, backlit display screen. Encountering dangerous levels of a gas, the monitor alerts the user by emitting a 90 dB audible alarm, flashing 360 degree LED lights, and vibrating.
This instrument is not only small and compact, but extremely durable as well. The internal sensors are shock proof, and the unit features integrated rubber to resist impacts. It’s also dust resistant according to IP67 and insensitive to electromagnetic interference.
One of the key differences in Draeger monitors is the life of their sensors. The H2S, CO, and O2 sensors have a five-year lifetime, while the LEL sensor is guaranteed for up to three years. This not only cuts down on the hassle of replacing sensors, but saves money as well.
Draeger creates industry-leading protection equipment for a wide range of applications, including hospitals and fire departments in addition to industrial safety. The reason for Draeger’s popularity is simple: their equipment is crafted with quality and accuracy in mind. They don’t make equipment by cutting corners to lower costs, but instead engineer some of the most dependable safety equipment on the planet.
